It's very lucky, raining stop outside. Thank you all for coming. Today I am delighted to hold my solo exhibition of golf course landscapes at Sorbonne University, and I warmly welcome everyone.
I remember more than thirty years ago, when I was just learning golf at the driving range, my coach told me that playing golf is difficult, and playing well is even harder. Sure enough, I have been playing golf many years, but my handicap is still around 25 so far.
However, as a painter, I discovered another world while playing golf. There are over 30000 (thirty thousand) golf courses in the world, each of which is the creation of nature and the careful work of designers. Every golf course, even every fairway, every bunker, every creek, and every hazard is different. This not only deeply attracted me, but also made me realize that among all sports, only the landscape of the golf course can be more for painting. So I have been playing golf for over 30 years and have painted over a thousand golf course landscapes.
My major is the study of European art history, and I am very fond the landscape painter such as Millet and Corot ,and Impressionist painter Monet and Pissarro . But my idols are golf superstars such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, as well as excellent French golfers Victor Perez and Romain Langasque.
It is my honor to hold the exhibition at Sorbonne University. First of all, I would like to thank the curator Yves Kobry and Mr. Wang Haichen with his team for investing a lot of time and energy into it. I should also thank my wife and friends for their understanding and support over the past thirty years, as well as the efforts of my studio team. Of course, I should be even more grateful for your presence tonight. Thank you.
